OUR

RECOMMENDATIONS

Here are some of the places we like to go to in the south of the island:

The beaches we particularly like to go to:

  • Alcala: the beach front walk is very long (it starts by the old port of Alcala) and there are many sand beaches and natural pools along the way. There’s a sports field, 2 cafes/bars, and a playground along the ocean walk. Great sunsets
  • Playa de la enramada : partly stone partly sand beach, great sunset, there’s a bar on the beach
  • El medano: sand beach in the hype town of El Medano. A number of cafes along the ocean walk
(much shorter than the one in Alcala)
  • But there are many others (playa San Juan, playa del Duque, playa del Camison…)

Great sunset points:

  • El Palm Mar (beach front walk with a few bars/restaurants)
  • Alcala
  • La Caleta (beach front walk with many restaurants)
  • Las Americas (very long beach front walk, quite touristy)

Nature:

  • The volcano El Teide is the highest volcano in Spain and offers stunning landscapes and views, as well as great
    stargazing opportunities
  • The cloud forest of Anaga in the north of the island offers breathtaking views and lush vegetation
  • The island has many trails for hiking, both in the north and in the south
  • Whale watching
  • Sports: surfing, Kitesurfing, paragliding, diving.

Places to eat :

  • Canarian food (“guachinche”):
  • Tasca 1900 (very close)
  • Rancho de nino
  • Xanadu
  • El Cordero

Seafood:

  • Agua y Sal (Playa san Juan and Tajao)
  • Mero Pancho (Tajao -this village is famous for its seafood, and offers many restaurants-)
  • In the town of La Caleta, there is also a wide variety of restaurants (fish, spanish & italian) with ocean views

Thai:

  • Thai rico
  • Thai botanico

Venezuelan:

  • Sabor urbano (very close, 6 min. walking)

These are just some of our favourites, there are many many more 😊

With regards to activities in Tenerife, there is plenty of choice:

  • Beaches
  • Cultural visits: colonial style towns like La Laguna (it’s historic centre is Unesco world heritage), Icod de los Vinos, or Guarachico combine great architecture and a relaxed atmosphere
